Mojácar recently held its third annual competition in the Provincial Beach Tennis Circuit, organized by Almeria´s Government in collaboration with the local Town Council.
A sporting, but fun game, with the aim of promoting beach tennis to both tourists and residents, registration was free of charge with all the necessary equipment provided.
50 players turned up to play, spread over the different categories for men, women, doubles and, for youngsters up to age 14 and 16. Mojácar Sports Councillor, Ana García, was there on the beach to see the games throughout the day and was delighted with high level of both play and participation. In her mind, however, the great relaxed atmosphere and sportsmanship were the highlights of the competition, whatever the results.
In the end, Laura Mulero Parra and Gustavo Staniscia came first with
David Franco López and Daniel Fernando Ortega second, followed by Diego and Damián Navarro in third position.
The next rounds of the Provincial Tennis Circuit will be held on the 22nd in Garrucha followed by the 29th in Cuevas del Almanzora.
