Mojácar Council has opened a new zonal tourist information point on Mojácar Beach, located in a strategic and highly visible place next to the Mojácar Playa Parque Commercial. This new space, which will be open from Monday to Saturday, mornings and afternoons, represents a significant advance in the modernisation of visitor services and reinforces the municipality's commitment to innovation, digitalisation, and tourism excellence.
The inauguration was attended by the Junta de Andalucía’s Tourism Delegate, Juan José Alonso, who congratulated the municipality on its commitment to tourism excellence.
The main innovation of this information point is the incorporation of a state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence system through the Cicerone conversational assistant, a smart totem capable of interacting with visitors in real time and offering personalised service in several languages.
Thanks to this technology, tourists can get answers to their queries about the municipality, discover places of interest, get recommendations on routes, beaches, restaurants and events, as well as obtain cultural and leisure information tailored to their interests in a quick, natural, and accessible way.
The new information point combines personalised attention from the Municipal Tourist Office staff with cutting-edge digital tools. A large-format interactive screen allows visitors to visually follow all the information the tourist information officer presents during the consultation, making it easier to understand maps, routes, recommendations and tourist resources.
In addition, the system is committed to a sustainable, paperless model. All the information consulted can be sent directly to the visitor's mobile phone through a simple process, allowing them to have a personalised guide to Mojácar throughout their stay.
As a complement to this service, the Local Council has installed a second information totem outside the building, freely accessible, which remains operational even when the information point is closed. Hence residents and visitors can consult tourist information 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
This action forms part of the Destination Tourism Sustainability Plan (PSTD), which promotes different projects aimed at digital transformation, the improvement of the visitor experience, and the consolidation of Mojácar as a Smart Tourism Destination.
The Mayor of Mojácar, Francisco García Cerdá, highlighted that "with this new information point, Mojácar is not only adapting to the changing times, but is also positioning itself at the forefront of tourism technology, offering visitors a smart, convenient service tailored to their real needs."
With this new infrastructure, the Local Council continues moving towards a more innovative, sustainable, and connected tourism model, where technology is put at the service of both those who visit Mojácar and the continuous improvement of public services, reinforcing the municipality's position as one of the most innovative tourist destinations on the Andalucian coast.
