REINFORCES ITS COMMITMENT AGAINST GENDER VIOLENCE WITH THE INSTALLATION OF THREE NEW PURPLE POINTS
Mojácar Council presented this Tuesday three new Purple Points, an initiative aimed at reinforcing the attention, prevention, and detection of gender violence in the municipality. The points are located in the Town Hall Square, the Playa Medical Centre, and the Local Police Station, and will be operational year-round.
During the event, a new identifying banner was also unveiled, which will be permanently incorporated into all municipal campaigns and events, with the aim of reinforcing institutional visibility in the fight against violence against women.
The presentation brought together the Municipal Corporation, representatives of the Mariquita La Posá Women's Association, and members of the Local Police's specialised patrol, 'BioGen,' which works to monitor and support victims of gender violence.
The Mayor of Mojácar, Francisco García, highlighted the importance of this municipal initiative, emphasizing that the Local Council's commitment is "unwavering and permanent."
"With the launch of these Purple Points, Mojácar is equipping itself with clear tools to support, guide, and protect any woman who needs it. Our message is unequivocal: this municipality will always stand with the victims and will not tolerate any form of violence," he affirmed.
Equality Councillor, Noemí Linares, emphasized the institutional and social coordination that has made the project possible.
"These points are the result of collaborative work between administrations, security forces, and local associations. Thanks to this collaboration, we can expand the support network and create safe, accessible, and welcoming spaces for all women in Mojácar," she noted.
The Equality Department reminds us that the Purple Points will serve as reference points for receiving information, immediate support, and referrals to specialised resources available in the locality and the province.
