- The Local Security Board, convened by the Mojácar Mayor, meet in an extraordinary session to renew the integration of the Local Police into the VioGén system.
Mojácar Council held an extraordinary session of the Local Security Board last Monday, 20th of April at 12.30pm in the Town Hall's council chamber, with the main aim of reinforcing police coordination mechanisms that guarantee the safety of women in the municipality.
Integration into the VioGén System
The Mayor of Mojácar, Francisco García Cerdá, has emphasized that the municipality continues to be at the forefront of institutional protection following the recent update of its security protocols. With the approval of the operational modification addendum with the Almería Civil Guard Command, the Local Council is optimising the implementation of judicial protection measures.
This progress is consolidated with the renewal of the agreement with the Secretary of State for Security for the VioGén System. García Cerdá recalled that the Mojácar Local Police is a leader in this area: a pioneer since its integration in 2007 and taking on comprehensive protection management since 2013.
This tool ensures that local officers share information in real time with the rest of the security forces, maximising effectiveness in the prevention and monitoring of each case.
Cooperation between administrations
Given the importance of the agreements, the Security Board meeting included broad institutional representation, not only from the local level but also from the Sub-delegation of the Government in Almería and the Junta de Andalucía, with the special participation of the head of the Unit against Violence against Women, Loli Cruz.
With the ratification of these agreements, Mojácar Council, according to statements by its mayor, reaffirms its commitment to "zero tolerance" towards gender violence, providing the Local Police with the most advanced technical and legal resources to protect the female citizens who need it.
