The municipality of Mojácar has stood out once again at London's World Travel Market (WTM), one of the world's most important tourism fairs, consolidating its position as a leading destination in the international market and seeking new opportunities in the sector.
The Tourism Councillor, María Gracia Alarcón, and the Trade Councillor, Pascual Artero, headed Mojácar Council's institutional representation, accompanied by a group of local business owners and hoteliers who took part in this international fair for the first time fair thanks to the collaboration between the Almería Chamber of Commerce and Mojácar Council.
This joint participation provided a great opportunity for Mojácar's business owners to showcase their businesses in the international and British markets, which are so important for the municipality, while also holding meetings with tour operators and travel agents interested in the destination.
The Tourism Councillor, María Gracia Alarcón, underlined that “it was essential for Mojácar that our business owners and hoteliers be present at WTM. It is a unique opportunity to showcase our municipality’s charms, create business contacts, and learn from the strategies of other major tourist destinations. Mojácar is committed to continuing to grow in line with the latest trends in international tourism.”
Alarcón also highlighted that “up until September, Mojácar welcomed more than 65,000 British visitors, demonstrating the importance of this market and the loyalty of British tourists to our destination. Hence, continuing to strengthen our presence in London is key to the future of tourism in Mojácar.”
Trade Councillor, Pascual Artero, pointed out that “the presence of our business owners and hoteliers at this fair demonstrates the joint commitment of the Local Council and the private sector to boosting the local economy. Mojácar not only promotes its tourism offer, but also the work and quality of its business community, which is the true engine of the municipality's development.”
During the fair, the Mojácar delegation also held institutional meetings with the Regional Tourism Minister, José Ángel Bernal, the Provincial Deputy Ángel Escobar, and the Provincial Deputy María del Mar López, reinforcing collaboration between administrations to further position Mojácar as a strategic destination within the province and the British market.
The participation in WTM London consolidates Mojácar Council’s backing for international promotion, public-private collaboration, and the projection of the municipality as a quality destination, reaffirming its tourism leadership in the Levante region of Almería.
