The mayor of Mojácar, Francisco García Cerdá, received a visit from the Territorial Delegate for Employment, Business, and Self-Employment in Almería, Amós García Hueso, following the recent award of a €19,000 subsidy to the Mojácar Village Traders' Association.
This assistance, granted by the Territorial Delegation for Employment, aims to promote and strengthen local and nearby trade, a key sector for the municipality's economy and for maintaining activity in the old town.
During the meeting, held at the Town Hall, the mayor and the delegate analysed various joint lines of work aimed at promoting the modernisation of small businesses, promoting digitalisation, and fostering the sector's competitiveness. Representatives from the Chamber of Commerce and members of the Traders’ Association also took part in the meeting, which highlighted the importance of this support for continuing to boost economic activity in Mojácar Pueblo.
Mayor Francisco García Cerdá emphasized that "this subsidy represents significant support for local trade, an essential pillar of our economy and an element that gives life to our streets and the identity of Mojácar." He also highlighted "the need to continue backing local trade, supporting our business owners and entrepreneurs, and working hand in hand with the Junta de Andalucía and the Chamber of Commerce to continue generating employment and opportunities."
The delegate Amós García Hueso underlined the Junta de Andalucía’s commitment to the municipalities and the local business community, emphasising that this assistance seeks to strengthen traditional trade, modernise businesses and maintain economic activity in the villages.
