Mojácar Council has officially presented Cicerone AI, the new tourist information service based on artificial intelligence which will allow for providing a personalised, instantaneous and multi-lingual service to visitors and residents.
The tool, integrated into digital totems, interactive panels and the municipal tourist website, means one of the biggest advances in tourist digitalisation which Mojácar has carried out in recent years, and makes up part of the Cicerone 2025 technological implementation project.
Cicerone AI uses generative artificial intelligence technology to offer up-to-date information about tourist resources, routes, activities, local businesses and municipal services.
The system can recommend personalised plans, adapted to the type of traveller, their interests and the length of the visit, as well as managing user satisfaction surveys, visitor registers and statistics which will allow for the improvement of the municipality’s tourism public policies.
The Mayor of Mojácar underlined the importance of this new tool in a municipality with a high annual number of visitors: “With Cicerone AI we are taking a noticeable step forward in the way which we inform and accompany the tourist. Mojácar receives thousands of tourists throughout the year, and we needed a system which would allow us to provide an immediate service, not dependant on opening hours and with completely up-to-date information.
García Cerdá added: “This intelligent assistant allows us to know those who visit us better, to understand their interests and to raise the quality of their experience. We are modernising Mojácar with tools of the present and of the future.”
The Tourism Councillor, María Gracia Alarcón, highlighted the impact which Cicerone AI will have on tourism assistance and on the promotion of the municipality: “Cicerone AI is not only a digital assistant; it is a new way of discovering Mojácar. The visitor will be able to find routes, activities, restaurants of playas suited to their profile in a matter of seconds.”
Alarcón stressed that the tool will improve both the visibility of the destination and the traveller experience: “With this technology we are advancing toward a tourism model which is more professional, more sustainable and more adapted to what today’s tourist needs: immediacy, personalisation and quality.
Cicerone AI has already been integrated into the network of exterior and interior interactive totems, informative tablets, tactile monitors and the municipality’s official tourism portal. The installed devices allow for interacting with the IA through high illumination touch screens, available in streets, squares and municipal spaces, extending the information points beyond the Tourist Office.
The Mayor emphasized that this tool forms part of a wider digitalisation process: “We are combining systems of intelligent mobility, interactive panels and now Cicerone AI to place Mojácar among the best digitally prepared tourist destinations.”
The councillor added: “The aim is clear: whoever wants to visit Mojácar will find useful, personalised information, accessible from any point, and the Local Council has solid data to continue improving.”
From today, Cicerone AI becomes the new window of welcome for those coming to the municipality.
