- The initiative, which was in the Almería locality, ran until the 15th of November, informing residents from different municipalities in the province.

- The campaign included actions aimed at citizens through information stands which, in the case of Mojácar, were located in the Town Hall Square.

The ‘Una Pila de Razones’ (A Battery of Reasons), campaign came to Mojácar in November, with the aim of raising awareness among all residents of the Almería locality about the importance of recycling Battery and Storage Battery Waste (RPA). During the day, two environmental informative agents set up an information stand in the Town Hall Square, where they made residents aware of the correct management of this type of waste. In addition, information was provided on the collection points set up for depositing used batteries and storage batteries, avoiding their accumulation in homes and hence promoting a Circular Economy model.

The campaign was spread throughout Andalucía until the 15th of November, visiting a total of 160 municipalities in the autonomous community. The main aim was to raise awareness among the population about the importance of recycling waste batteries and storage batteries, as well as to spread information about the environmental, social and economic advantages of their correct management in Andalucía.

'A Battery of Reasons' was an initiative promoted by the Junta de Andalucia’s Regional Ministry for Sustainability and Environment and the Andalucían Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FAMP), with the support of the Collective Systems of Extended Producer Responsibility (SCRAP) that operate in the region, such as Ecopilas, European Recycling Platform Spain and Ecolec.

During the campaign, the #UnaPiladeRazones hashtag was used on social media to highlight the importance of recycling waste batteries and storage batteries (WAA) separately, as well as the rights of consumers on the matter. In addition, the prevention of the generation of this waste was promoted, facilitating its selective collection and proper treatment for recycling.
