THE JUNTA DE ANDALUCÍA TOURISM DELEGATE OFFICIALLY PRESENTS MOJÁCAR WITH ITS BLUE FLAGS
The Junta de Andalucía Tourism Delegate in Almería, Vicente García Egea, travelled to Mojácar to officially present the locality with the Blue Flags awarded in 2021 by the European Foundation for Environmental Education.
He was received by Mojácar Mayor, Rosa María Cano, Tourism Councillor, Emmanuel Agüero, and Finance Councillor, Francisco García Cerdá.
The Tourism Delegate wanted to emphasize that Mojácar is one of the province’s most important brands as a tourist and beach destination: “it is a reference point in our province, all the more so taking into account the excellent work being carried out by Mojácar Council, as the six awards gained demonstrate.”
While handing over so many Blue Flags, Vicente García Egea underlined his congratulations to the governing team and the Mayor, “taking your work as another reference point in the importance which the Tourism Regional Ministry, headed by Juan Marín, attaches to the quality of Almería and Andalucía destinations.”
Mojácar Mayor, Rosa María Cano, thanked the delegate for his words and expressed her satisfaction at gaining these distinctions, “which correspond to the effort to have clean and well looked after beaches, waiting to receive everyone who comes to visit with the guarantee of finding the best services.”
Tourism Councillor, Emmanuel Agüero Leclerc, confirmed to the Junta de Andalucia Tourism Delegate his commitment to the quality of the municipality: “we have the maximum of awards for beach quality. Six Blue Flags obtained thanks to the tenacity of the whole governing team to maintain maximum quality in all aspects of the municipality, as well as the improvement, year after year, to our services.”
Mojácar retained the six Blue Flags obtained last year, making it one of the Almería municipalities with the most beaches which have achieved this distinction.
The Mojácar beaches of El Cantal, El Descargador, Lance Nuevo, Marina de la Torre, Piedra Villazar and Venta del Bancal have been awarded the Blue Flags, which are given out annually to the beaches and ports which meet the strictest criteria in terms of water quality, environmental management, safety and services, as well as information and environmental education.
